The Moment

Finally, I completed the longest running project I've had.  For the last 6 years I've been getting on and off this boulder, with hopes of finishing it.  With the arrival of a foot of snow I braved the 20 deg temps and snow, knowing this would be my only chance for a while.  The forecast called for a warm spell on the horizon and I know this means wet boulders for days.  After millions of times falling on the last move, I got it done in 4 tries today.  What a relief that was.  Now I have the lower start which is the sit start of the sit start to worry about.

hi phil, could you tell me what is the difference between serendipity moment vs serendipity movement? is one the sit-start? and is the sit to the sit an even newer problem? thanks and wish you the best.

Serendipity Movement stays lower than The Moment bypassing the jump move at the end. same start.

The sit to the sit is one more hand move and a couple more foot moves. done by a friend a couple years ago.

Isnt Jungle Fever the 7b+ at Mortar rock in Ca been a project for you longer than 6 years???

no worries. i can understand the desire for anonymity. i'm just curious because i like to read about climbing news. a lot of strong climbers are unknown. and even for some known strong climbers, it can be hard to hear about their adventures. thanks for blogging and showing us videos of your ascents. i had been wondering what more of the hard climbs look like in the northeast.

Cool cool, then his mane is Dan Bates, a true local.
As for my "other" pj. at mortar. I guess technically i've been trying that longer. I've never felt the desire/connection to do it though. It takes a "rare" breed for that kind of thing.

i imagine that each climbing area has its share of strong locals that no one has ever heard of. i am glad to hear about their achievements.
